Over these years I have continuously created a lot of paintings and read some books. My painting focuses on landscape, while reading on art theories. But I often feel unsatisfied with my painting and don’t fully understand the books, either. At this moment as I really want to say something, the theory I read can’t help, the famous quotes are forgotten, what’s left in my mind are only some pieces of thinking while I was painting over these years.

I always think I am lucky. In spite of many detours, I finally step in my favorite painting track with the help of my teachers, friends and families. I retrieve the initial fascination and love of painting and find my orientation and destination. Every time I pick up the brush, I feel joyful as I can peacefully face the canvas, the nature and myself. It a delight of seeing rainbows after winds and rains. I pray for a steady state of mind and will keep going on painting in a down-to-earth way.

I am walking all the time, in the nature, in the journey of life, to be affected by the magnificence and quietness of the great nature and to feel various living conditions and changes of life in the big society. I want to express these affections and feelings in the way of painting.

I believe a painter should put reality in the first place. That is the destination and lighthouse of our painting road. Observation should be real, same for feeling and presentation. I am not really a serious person, but I am serious with painting. I often keep asking myself if I have made observations with my own eyes instead of other’s. In the past, I often observed things with others’ eyes; masterpiece structures and colors use were like a pair of prejudiced eyeglasses to blur. Thus, I often remind myself to find the reality with my own eyes,to feel the real objective appearance and the inner self with a sensitive, empty and pure heart, to process the painting in a real way, no pretending, no bluffing.

Nowadays, with convenient transportation and highly developed information, it becomes much easier for travelling far. Since I have traveled to and painted more and more places, my mind is getting broader. I genuinely love and passionately integrate into the places I lived and painted, the places I am living and where I am going.

Time goes fast. I feel much of the changes and shortness of life and the inevitable succeeding and substitution of generations. I am awed by it but also feel wonderful. Walking in the long river of time, the helplessness and the expectation are both worth thinking and presentation. I am going to grasp this feeling of time to inspire myself for painting orientation in next stage.
