Xu Qiang Oil Painting Solo Show “On The Way” Opened Today

Abstract:  Xu Qiang Oil Painting Solo Show “On The Way”, which was hosted by Fujian Artists Association, Xiamen Artists Association and Art College of Xiamen University , opened on the afternoon of Jun.19,2015 in Zhang Xiong gallery. Artists and art lovers were welcomed to join in the trip.

Xu Qiang Oil Painting Solo Show “On The Way”, which was hosted by Fujian Artists Association, Xiamen Artists Association and Art College of Xiamen University , opened on the afternoon of Jun.19,2015 in Zhang Xiong gallery. Associate Dean of Art College of Xiamen University and Vice-President of Fujian Artists Association Zhang Liping, Dean of College of Art Design of Xiamen University of Technology Chen Ke, former department head of Fine Arts Department of Art College of Xiamen University Tang Shaoyun, Professor of Fine Arts Department of Art College of Xiamen University Guan Hongshi and Director of Lacquer Painting Teaching and Research Office of Art College of Xiamen University Liu Xiaojie attended the opening ceremony. With the theme “On The Way”, works exhibited this time were free sketches during his traveling in the nature. Thus, all artists and art lovers were welcomed to join in a relaxing trip of soul as well as exploring the mysterious beauty of nature and feeling different lifestyles in realistic natural sceneries.

In such pleasant summer days when green trees and grasses were growing everywhere,  Xu brought us his paintings of strong flavor of countryside and presented to us what he saw and what he felt on all the way.  As Zhang Liping said in his opening speech , Xu is a painter who “almost never stop his brush”. He traveled on the way, got close to the nature and had his own understanding and thoughts for painting. Xu also expressed his gratitude for the successful opening of the exhibition and said the “On The Way” solo show would be a conclusion for his previous painting stage as well as a new start. He will follow his heart and keep going on. He will never stop.

 The landscapes in Xu’s oil paintings in this exhibition, from boundless prairie to boats in riverside towns, from small villages in Taihang Mountain in the North to Gulangyu Island in the South, as well as forests from the West to the East, are all realistic yet mysterious. The exhibition will last till July. 2.
